Busy Bottles and Broken TVs

When we last saw our heroine she was having that hormone-induced addled pregnancy brain thing going on...looks like that may still be the case. Thistle, seriously, you look like your half- dancing, half-scratching your boob.

Thistle wasn't the only one the pregnancy was wearing on. Honeydew, instinctively knew something was going on and was misbehaving accordingly. The TV had broken and she was throwing a massive temper-tantrum about it. Thistle was really tired and put her to bed still upset.

Strawkiwi knew something was up and and soon as he heard the commotion he came in to reassure Thistle that everything would be okay. He wrapped Thistle in his arms and held her close for a few moments. Normally this would have calmed Thistle down and lead to some other relaxing things *ahem* but Thistle was not feeling like herself on this night so she sent Strawkiwi to bed alone. It wasn't long before the stress of the day and the broken TV caused Thistle to go into labor early...3 weeks early.

Strawkiwi was more experienced this time and instead of panicking, he quickly dialed the number for their babysitter Sonja and hailed a taxi to take he and Thistle to the hospital.
And what a suprise, after the birth of a beautiful daughter, the doctor announced a second baby was on the way. Strawkiwi almost fainted at the thought....TWINS! The couple named the the babies Candy and Bubbles. Thistle was so excited that the girls seemed to favor her this time.

Yes, double the babies=double the trouble.
Strawkiwi: Wow This, you look great to have just had twins!
Thistle: Nevermind that sweetie! How are we going to manage twins! What about Pepper and Honeydew? Remember how Peppercini was when Honeydew came along? Now with twins!?

But Thistle needn't have worried. Pepper was growing up into a sweet and friendly little fellow. His best friend Eric was always around keeping him company so Pepper barely noticed that his mom and dad had less time for him.
In fact, he was not only improving socially but academically too. His grades had went from Bs and Cs to straight As.
Though Thistle noticed and appreciated the change in her son, she barely had time to tell him! The babies were keeping her so busy and Strawkiwi was struggling to make ends meet for the family. He still had not had time or money to fix the TV.
But Strawkiwi was a great dad as always. He took turns getting up in the middle of the night to feed the babies without Thistle even having to ask him.
He even sang nursery rhymes and tucked the girls into bed each evening.

Strawkiwi: Rock-a-bye baby in the tree top, when the wind blows the cradle will rock...

Honeydew was also adjusting to the twins rather nicely. She had taken up playing her xylophone more and more. Strawkiwi and Thistle wondered if their daughter was something of a musical prodigy.

Whenever she had the opportunity, Thistle made time for her eldest daughter. Honeydew and Thistle loved to play make believe with Goggi the Bunny-bear.

And even in between time with the twins and Honeydew, Thistle tried to squeeze in some exercise time for herself. (This is Candy that Thistle is holding)
But she, being the supermom that she is, still made time for her only son. Peppercini ate up any attention that Thistle gave him. They talked about school and friends...
Played dragons and pirates (which Thistle was alway the dragon and never seemed very happy about it)....

And laughed at their silly jokes.

Time passed by quickly and before too long, it was time for Thistle's 35th birthday. They invited over a few close family members including Mint, Eric, and Melon. (Everyone was still stuck on the broken TV thing)

Thistle had mixed feelings about turning 35. On one hand she barely felt like an adult most days but on the other hand, she was always tired from the twins and she even thought that she had found a grey hair the other day.

She thought long and hard about what she wanted to wish for...and decided that all she wanted was a happy family life and to maybe take a trip to France.

Every one was cheering as she blew out the candles yet, she had a strange feeling that she was actually getting older. It was as if she could literally feel herself getting a little older.

Whatever change she had made, did little to alter the way she looked. If anything Strawkiwi could keep his eyes off of her less than before.

Thistle found this rather exciting...or rather the cake rather exciting xD

Thistle: Yay! Cake!

Did I mention that Thistle's birthday is the same day as Peppercini's 15th birthday? 0_0
